A supply contract is designed around consumption assumptions, and when those assumptions stop reflecting the operation, the scheme stops working in the client's favor. In dynamic industries like electronics and entertainment, where product usage and manufacturing can change significantly, a contract that no longer matches reality ends up eroding competitiveness without anyone noticing right away.
One of our clients, with a key operation in the electronics and entertainment industry in Jalisco, faced an imbalance in its supply contract due to incorrect projections and a significant change in the use of its products.
Faced with the need to redefine its manufacturing and consumption approach, the client trusted our team to analyze its operation and structure an efficient solution. We optimized its contracting scheme, adjusting it to its new operational reality.
The value of this intervention lay in reconnecting the contract with how the company operates today, rather than how it was projected at the time. Starting from an analysis of its actual consumption, we restructured the terms so the scheme would follow the operation into its new stage and stop penalizing its evolution.
The result was a radical transformation in its electricity costs: from a scenario where its rate was comparable to the Basic Supply tariff to achieving annual savings of MX$29,000,000 in 2024.
Today our client has an energy strategy aligned with its operational evolution, ensuring financial stability and maximizing its competitiveness in the sector. Its case is a reminder that a contract signed under different conditions deserves review when the operation changes: companies that have shifted their manufacturing or product usage and still run the original scheme are likely leaving savings on the table.
